1. Chelsea 3 - 0 Man Utd

What more can i say? Superb Performance by Chelsea to win the English Premier League. A very highly interesting and amusing match. But more importantly, the defeat on Man Utd would give Liverpool a lifeline in grabbing second spot.

2. Liverpool 3 - 1 Aston Villa

Two crucial goals by Steven Gerrard ensure Liverpool capitalised on Man Utd defeat to go level on points with them having played a game more then them but remained in third due to a poorer goal difference. Chances were taken for once. Phew.

3. Wigan 1 - 2 Portsmouth

A massive comeback by pompey in the 2nd half ensure premiership football for another season for pompey. Thus comdeming West Brom and Birmingham down to the Championship with Sunderland. Great 2nd half for pompey and they deserved it.

With the regualtion battle and Permiership title settled. The focus would now be on next week last round of matches which would see who would get the second spot in the league and who would qualify for the UEFA cup.
